NBBF Announces Dates for 2025 Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League Finals
The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has officially announced that the finals of the 2025 Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League will take place from September 14 to 20 at the National Stadium Indoor Sports Hall, Surulere, Lagos.
In a statement signed by NBBF President, Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, the federation expressed deep appreciation to Zenith Bank PLC for its unwavering support and over 17 years of sponsorship of the Women’s Basketball League, a partnership that has contributed immensely to Nigeria’s dominance in African basketball over the last eight years and global recognition of the nation’s female players.
Kida also commended Zenith Bank’s support for the national women’s team, D’Tigress, recalling the N200 million reward package given to the players after their 2025 AfroBasket victory.
He confirmed that the final phase of the league would feature the top eight teams, with dignitaries including the Chairman and Director General of the Nigerian Sports Commission expected to attend, alongside key stakeholders from Nigeria’s basketball community and Zenith Bank’s top management.
The NBBF assured that preparations are in full gear to ensure a befitting finale, noting that branding rights, prize money, trophies, and marketing activities for the event remain under Zenith Bank’s sponsorship.
“Please accept the esteem of our best sporting regards as we look forward to an exciting conclusion to the league,” the statement added.
