Tinubu visits Buhari’s Family in Kaduna
President Bola Tinubu on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna State.
He was accompanied by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, other state governors, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, ministers, senators, and senior government officials.
The President was received by Aisha Buhari, widow of the late former leader, who welcomed him on behalf of the family and her children.
Earlier on arrival in Kaduna, Tinubu attended the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari, son of former Zamfara State governor and senator, Abdullaziz Yari, to Safiyya Idris. The ceremony took place at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna.
The late President Buhari passed away on July 13, 2025, at The London Clinic after a prolonged illness. His body was flown to Nigeria and received at Katsina Airport by President Tinubu.
Buhari was accorded full military honours, including gun salutes and ceremonial processions befitting a former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, before his interment in Daura, which followed Islamic rites.
