At 65, Nigeria will stand stronger and more united – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured Nigerians that the country will overcome its challenges and achieve its full potential.
He gave the assurance while representing President Bola Tinubu at a special Sunday service held at the National Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.
Akpabio stressed the importance of unity and support for government policies, quoting President Tinubu’s message that “Nigeria must remain united.” He urged citizens to embrace love instead of hatred, declaring that “the foes you see today, you shall soon see them no more.”
On the upside, Akpabio pointed out that Nigeria has remained resilient despite its challenges, citing Psalm 46 to affirm that “God’s hand is on Nigeria.” He pledged that the government would continue working for the prosperity, unity, and peace of the country, assuring that the nation’s struggles will not last forever.
However, the downside remains the pressing difficulties facing the country, which Akpabio himself admitted, even as he maintained optimism that they will soon be overcome. His call for love, unity, and collective effort highlighted the need for citizens’ cooperation at a time of economic and social strain.
The event also saw the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Wale Oke, joining in the call for unity and peace as Nigeria marked its 65th anniversary.
