US Adds 10 Nigerians to ‘Worst of the Worst’ Immigrant Register

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has added 10 Nigerians to its “Worst of the Worst” register, a database highlighting immigrants arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over alleged criminal offences.

The latest names were published on the official DHS website, with the individuals linked to cases involving alleged fraud, identity theft, drug offences, assault, conspiracy and offences involving children.

DHS said the register was created to draw attention to immigrants it describes as the “worst of the worst criminal aliens” arrested by ICE.

US Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin said the latest enforcement operations were aimed at individuals accused of serious crimes.

“Every day, the patriots of ICE are working to target the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from our country. Just yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, pedophiles, kidnappers, and other violent criminals to make America safe again,” Mullin said.

He added that the Trump administration would continue its immigration enforcement policy, including arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants accused of criminal offences.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, there will be no safe haven for illegal aliens, including in sanctuary cities which put illegal aliens over their own citizens. We will never apologize for arresting and deporting illegal aliens, because that’s how we protect American lives,” he said.

The DHS described the latest arrests as part of the Trump administration’s broader deportation campaign.

“Under DHS leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling President Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations – starting with the worst of the worst – including the illegal aliens you see here,” the department said.

The latest publication comes weeks after DHS released another list in July containing 124 Nigerians arrested by ICE and identified on the same register.

The July list included Nigerians linked by US authorities to various alleged criminal offences, although the department did not provide specific deportation dates for the individuals.
