BREAKING: Security Forces Rescue 20 Prospective NYSC Members, Civilian Abducted in Imo
Twenty prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and one civilian abducted in Imo State have been rescued in an intelligence-led operation involving security agencies.
The victims were reportedly abducted while travelling through the state, prompting the military, Department of State Services (DSS), police and other security agencies to launch a coordinated operation to locate and rescue them.
Security sources said the operation eventually led to the safe recovery of the 21 victims.
The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention at a DSS facility, according to the sources.
Authorities are also working to establish the circumstances surrounding the abduction and track down those responsible for the incident.
Efforts are reportedly ongoing to apprehend any remaining suspects linked to the abduction.
The latest rescue operation highlights continued security efforts to protect prospective corps members and other travellers in parts of the South-East where incidents of abduction have been reported.
