Gov Okpebholo vows to crush criminals threatening peace in Edo State

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has declared a firm stance against criminal elements, promising not to allow them destabilize the peace of the state.
He made this declaration at the country home of Senator Adams Oshiomhole after a high-level security meeting involving political leaders, religious and traditional rulers, as well as heads of security agencies, aimed at addressing security concerns in Edo North.
Governor Okpebholo emphasized the importance of the meeting, noting that it was necessary to maintain peace and security across the state.
According to him, “Under my watch, criminal elements will not succeed in destabilizing Edo State.”
“I will deal with them decisively and make the state inhabitable for their activities.”
He assured residents of improved security, adding that all resolutions reached during the meeting would be put to use for the benefit of the state.
“We came here for a peaceful discussion regarding security.”
“We had a perfect discussion. Let us watch it from here. Things will be perfect in our land,” he said.
In his remarks, Senator Adams Oshiomhole praised the governor’s firm approach to security challenges, saying, “Governor Monday Okpebholo has come to Edo North to discuss with the people what he has been doing and what he will do in terms of security of lives and property in Edo State.”
“The people have expressed their confidence in the Governor. They have reaffirmed their loyalty and commitment to work together with the security agencies so that Afenmai land will be safe.”
Also speaking, HRH Mallam Ali Suleiman, a traditional ruler in the area, said the meeting gave community leaders renewed confidence.
He noted that traditional rulers have resolved to support security agencies to ensure lasting peace in Edo State.
