FG warns Nigerians against fraudulent claims over Emefiele’s forfeited Houses

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (FMHUD) has issued a strong warning to Nigerians over fraudulent activities surrounding the 753 housing units forfeited to the Federal Government by former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
The ministry, in a statement signed by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Badamasi Haiba, on Saturday in Abuja, clarified that it has not authorized any individual or company to sell the properties.
Haiba explained that the disclaimer followed reports that a firm, Pink Synergy Global Company Limited, was parading itself as the official auctioneer of the houses.
The company, led by one Yashim Kejang, was said to have circulated letters and proposals to unsuspecting Nigerians and organizations, urging them to buy expression of interest forms for the houses.
“For the avoidance of doubt, no sale of the 753 units of houses has commenced by the Ministry,” Haiba stated. He stressed that the Federal Government, under the supervision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will announce the commencement of sales through a transparent and competitive process in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The ministry advised Nigerians to ignore such fraudulent claims and direct all inquiries to the FMHUD through its Public Building and Housing Development Department, as well as the Press and Public Relations unit, before committing any resources.
In May 2025, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) formally handed over the estate to the Ministry of Housing, after it was seized from Emefiele. Minister of Housing, Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, had at the time assured that the properties would be disposed of through an open process accessible to interested citizens.
