Journalist Livinus Chibuike Victor attempts Guinness World Record for Longest Interviewing Marathon in Abuja

As the world continues to reflect on the importance of journalists in promoting transparency, challenging authority, and giving voice to the voiceless, Imo State-born, globally acclaimed journalist Livinus Chibuike Victor has announced a historic Guinness World Record attempt.
The event, themed “Nigeria Our Strength”, is scheduled to hold from September 28 to October 1, 2025, at Tangier Hotel, 34 Ekukinam Street, beside ABC Transport, Utako, Abuja.
According to Victor, the attempt is not only about setting a new record but also about spotlighting the crucial role of journalism in sustaining democracy. He explained that journalism remains a profession that educates, empowers, and holds leaders accountable, stressing that in an era where truth is often under attack, the initiative will reaffirm the need for a free, ethical, and fearless press.
“Democracy is impossible without an informed public, and journalists are the ones who make that possible,” Victor stated. “This attempt is not just about setting a new world record; it’s about celebrating truth, integrity, and the powerful role journalism plays in building and sustaining open societies.”
The three-day marathon will include activities aimed at engaging the public, celebrating press freedom, and honoring the sacrifices made by journalists across the globe.
Media professionals, civic leaders, and members of the public have been invited to attend and support the event as it unfolds in Abuja.
