BREAKING: Senate confirms Joash Amupitan as INEC Chairman

The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Professor Joash Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
During his screening on Thursday, Amupitan pledged to uphold the commission’s independence and ensure credible electoral processes across the country.
He assured lawmakers that under his leadership, INEC would maintain transparency, fairness, and neutrality in conducting elections, in line with democratic principles.
