Angry supporters storm PDP National Secretariat over party crisis
There was tension at the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja on Monday as protesters gathered to express their anger over the party’s internal crisis.
The demonstrators, made up mostly of party supporters and youth groups, accused the PDP leadership of poor management and alleged imposition of candidates in recent party activities.
Chanting solidarity songs, the protesters called for immediate reforms and transparency within the party. Security operatives were stationed around the secretariat to prevent any breakdown of order.
Some protesters carried placards demanding the resignation of certain national officers, while others urged unity and reconciliation among party leaders ahead of future elections.
As of the time of filing this report, the PDP leadership had yet to officially respond to the protest.
