Tinubu appoints Ibrahim Ida as CAC Chairman, nominates seven Commissioners for NPC
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former senator Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and nominated seven individuals to fill vacant commissioner positions at the National Population Commission (NPC).
Ida, who represented Katsina Central in the Senate from 2017, holds an MSc in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan (1983) and an LLB from the University of Abuja (2003). Prior to his tenure in the Senate, he served as Commissioner of Finance for Katsina State and as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
The seven nominees for the NPC, representing their respective states, are:
1. Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi – Ekiti State
2. Nasiru Mu’azu – Zamfara State
3. Usman Tuggar – Bauchi State
4. Isaka Alada Yahaya – Kwara State
5. Sadiq Isah Radda – Katsina State
6. Suleiman Umar – Jigawa State
7. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo – Sokoto State
These nominations, intended to complement existing federal commissioners, are subject to confirmation by the National Assembly.
In a related development, President Tinubu appointed Yusuf Mohammed of Kano State as Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo, and confirmed Bala Bello as Special Adviser on Political Economy. Bello, from Taraba State, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He previously served as Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria and as Executive Director (Corporate Services) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank from 2017 to 2022.
The presidency expressed confidence that the appointees would contribute meaningfully to advancing the administration’s agenda and improving the quality of life for Nigerians.
