D’Tigers triumph over Libya 75-70 in FIBA Afrobasket qualifier
Nigeria’s D’Tigers secured a hard-fought 75-70 victory over Libya in their fourth match of the 2025 FIBA Afrobasket qualification tournament on Friday night.
In a thrilling and closely contested encounter, D’Tigers outlasted the Libyans in front of a passionate home crowd at the Grand Hall in Tripoli.
This victory marked Nigeria’s first win in the qualification campaign, following three consecutive defeats in the previous window.
In their initial meeting of the qualifiers in 2024, D’Tigers had suffered an overtime loss to Libya. However, the Nigerian side delivered a much-improved performance in the return leg.
Looking ahead, D’Tigers will take on Uganda in their fifth qualifier on Saturday, followed by a clash against Cape Verde the next day.
