APC appoints Masari as Chairman of 2026 National Convention Committee, reassigns Uzodimma
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reconstituted the leadership of its 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee, appointing former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as the new chairman.
The party also reassigned Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who was earlier named to head the committee, to serve as treasurer.
In a statement, the APC said the reconstitution forms part of a revised composition of the committee ahead of its planned 2026 national convention.
The ruling party also expanded the committee’s membership from 73 to 90 members, a move it said was aimed at accommodating more party stakeholders and strengthening internal coordination.
Among the newly added members is Senator Barry Mpigi, alongside other prominent chieftains of the APC.
According to the party, the leadership changes were informed by zoning considerations and other strategic exigencies necessary for the successful organisation of the national convention.
The APC added that the reconstituted committee is expected to oversee preparations and ensure a smooth conduct of the convention as the party intensifies internal consultations nationwide.
