Ballon d’Or 2025 Award Ceremony scheduled for 22 September in Paris
The prestigious Ballon d’Or Award ceremony has been slated for 22 September 2025 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with this year’s edition poised to make history by featuring an equal number of accolades for both male and female footballers.
For the first time since its inception, the organisers have introduced new categories in women’s football, including awards for Best Women’s Goalkeeper, Best Young Female Player, and Top Female Scorer, whether at club or international level.
With these additions, the total number of awards now stands at six apiece for the male and female categories. The Socrates Award, which recognises social impact and humanitarian efforts, remains open to nominees of any gender.
Nominees across all categories will be announced in early August ahead of the much-anticipated ceremony.
