LOC Promises smooth and secure Niger Delta games
Local Organising Committee of the maiden Niger Delta Sports Festival has assured that extensive planning has been carried out to guarantee a smooth and well-organised event from 1st to 8th April in Uyo.
Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, Mr Harry Iwuala, stated that the LOC comprises experienced sports administrators and former international athletes whose expertise, he said, will be instrumental in ensuring a successful festival.
Mr Iwuala further confirmed that ahead of Wednesday’s opening ceremony, tight security arrangements have been implemented across all venues to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.
The festival is expected to host approximately 3,000 athletes, 800 coaches, and technical officials, competing in 17 sporting events.
The competition will be officially flagged off at the Uyo Township Stadium by President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko.
