NAF Airstrikes destroy terrorist training camp in Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has destroyed a major terrorist enclave being used as a training ground in Bukar Meram, located on the southern flank of the Lake Chad region in Borno State.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, on Monday in Abuja.
According to Ejodame, the operation followed credible intelligence about terrorists planning attacks on Marte and Monguno communities. He said the airstrikes successfully neutralised several terrorists and destroyed key logistics facilities, including supply vehicles, weapons storage sites, and makeshift shelters.
The Battle Damage Assessment confirmed that the strike effectively disrupted the imminent threats posed to those communities, reinforcing the NAF’s commitment to proactively protect civilian populations and secure critical territories in the region.
Ejodame added that the NAF remains steadfast in its mandate to defend Nigeria’s sovereignty and contribute to lasting peace and security in the Northeast and other parts of the country.
