New FCT Police Commissioner vows zero tolerance for crime, vows intelligence-led policing
The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has pledged a decisive crackdown on crime, vowing zero tolerance for criminal activities under his leadership.
Speaking at his inaugural press briefing in Abuja, Sanusi expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for the confidence reposed in him.
He assured residents that he would consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor while introducing proactive and intelligence-driven strategies to enhance security across the FCT.
“Our approach will be intelligence-driven and professional, focused not only on responding to crime but preventing it before it occurs,” he said.
The police commissioner warned that the command would intensify efforts to identify and apprehend criminal elements operating within the territory. He also directed officers to maintain discipline, civility, and professionalism in their interactions with the public.
In a stern warning, Sanusi urged individuals involved in criminal activities to desist or leave the FCT, or face the full weight of the law.
He further called on residents to support security agencies by providing timely and useful information, stressing that effective policing requires collective responsibility.
Sanusi reiterated his commitment to an open-door policy, encouraging collaboration between the police and the public to ensure a safer environment for all.
