Paul Pogba to Leave Monaco After Injury-Plagued Spell
Former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is set to leave Monaco after the French club decided to terminate his contract following a series of injuries.
Monaco announced on Wednesday that Pogba’s contract, which was due to run until June 2027, would be ended after the objectives set when he joined the club were only “partially achieved.”
The 33-year-old France international is currently sidelined with a thigh injury, having only recently returned from a knee problem.
Pogba, who played a key role in France’s 2018 FIFA World Cup triumph, has struggled to regain his best form since serving a doping-related suspension.
Despite his limited time on the pitch, Monaco praised the midfielder’s attitude and influence within the squad.
The club described Pogba’s mindset and determination as “remarkable”, adding that he maintained high standards and continued to contribute to the team by sharing his experience and knowledge with younger players even while injured.
Pogba’s departure marks another setback in a career that has been heavily affected by injuries and his doping suspension in recent years.
