Presidential aide on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, resigns
The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has officially tendered his resignation from office.
Audu’s resignation, contained in a one-page letter dated June 8, was routed through the Chief of Staff to the President. He stated that his decision takes immediate effect.
In the letter, Audu expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in the administration’s public communication team under what he described as “visionary leadership.”
He also extended appreciation to the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, who had recommended him for the appointment on August 26, 2023.
“It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration,” Audu wrote.
The former presidential aide concluded his letter by offering his prayers for the continued success of Tinubu’s leadership and the progress of Nigeria.
As of the time of this report, the Presidency has yet to issue an official response to Audu’s resignation.
