The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has applauded the recognition of Superintendent of Police Josephine Adeh as the Public Relations Officer of the Year at the 2nd Nigeria Police Awards and Commendations Ceremony.

In a statement signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, the union described the honour as a testament to SP Adeh’s unwavering professionalism, dedication, and strategic communication prowess in her role as the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command.

“Her emergence as the recipient of this prestigious award is a resounding endorsement of her tireless efforts to bridge the gap between the police and the public through timely, transparent, and effective information dissemination,” the statement read.

Beyond her professional achievement, SP Adeh’s recognition also underscores the increasing impact of women in the security and communication sectors. The NUJ FCT Council praised her as a trailblazer whose success serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration to young women across the country.

“Her achievement symbolises the steady and commendable rise of women into leadership roles in sectors once dominated by men. It reaffirms that gender is no barrier to excellence,” Comrade Ike stated.

The union expressed pride in SP Adeh’s milestone, describing it as a reflection of her personal brilliance and a boost for female voices in promoting trust between public institutions and citizens.

The NUJ FCT Council wished SP Josephine Adeh continued success in her career, celebrating what it described as a “well-earned honour.”
