2027: APC Denies Withdrawal of Tinubu’s Campaign Council List

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports that it has withdrawn the list of members appointed to its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the reports as mere rumours.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the clarification following reports that the ruling party had withdrawn the campaign council list released as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking with TheCable, Morka said the APC had not officially withdrawn the list, adding that any decision to alter its composition would be formally communicated by the party.

“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” he said.

The clarification comes amid reactions within the APC over the composition of the campaign council, with some party stakeholders questioning the inclusion or exclusion of certain prominent members.

The controversy had fuelled speculation that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party leadership could review the structure ahead of the 2027 election.

The APC recently announced the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council as Tinubu prepares to seek re-election under the platform of the ruling party.

However, Morka’s latest statement indicates that there has been no official withdrawal of the list.

He stressed that should the party decide to make changes to the campaign council, such adjustments would be announced through the appropriate official channels.
