Chaos rocks PDP as National Convention faces uncertainty
Crisis has deepened within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), raising fears that its upcoming national convention may be disrupted or postponed.
Sources within the party revealed growing disagreements among key stakeholders over zoning arrangements, delegate lists, and leadership positions.
Some party leaders have accused the national working committee of bias and lack of transparency, while others warn that unresolved issues could tear the party apart ahead of the convention.
Efforts are reportedly ongoing by the Board of Trustees and senior party figures to broker peace and prevent a total breakdown of order.
The PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition party, is expected to use the convention to decide on crucial leadership and strategic plans ahead of future elections.
