NAF reshuffles top Officers to boost operations under new leadership

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has made major changes in its top command as part of efforts to strengthen operations and improve efficiency under its new Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.

The reshuffle affects several senior officers across key departments, field commands, and units. According to the NAF, the move is meant to promote better coordination, faster decision making, and readiness to tackle security challenges in the country.

Some of the new appointments include Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Abubakar Abdullahi as Chief of Policy and Plans, and AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun as Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna. AVM Ibitayo Ajiboye becomes Group Managing Director of the NAF Investment Limited Group of Companies, while AVM Precious Amadi takes over as Chief of Operations.

Others are AVM Nnamdi Ananaba as Chief of Air Intelligence, AVM Ebimobo Ebiowe as Superintendent of Standards and Evaluation, and AVM Ahmed Dari as Chief of Training. The Transformation and Innovation Branch will now be led by AVM Mohammed Ibrahim.

In the engineering and logistics sections, AVM Olufemi Ogunsina is the new Chief of Aircraft Engineering, and AVM Michael Onyebashi becomes Air Officer Commanding, Mobility Command. AVM David Pwajok will head Communications and Information Systems, while AVM John Ukeh takes over as Air Provost Marshal.

AVM Simon Peter is now Managing Director of the NAF Housing and Construction Company, and AVM Chidiebere Obiabaka becomes the Air Secretary. AVM Anthony Martins is the new Chief of Administration, AVM Abubakar Sule heads the Logistics Command, and AVM Abdulrasheed Kotun is the Managing Director of NAF Farms. AVM Edward Gabkwet becomes Chief of Civil-Military Relations, and AVM Osichinaka Ubadike is now Deputy Commandant of AFIT.

Several other officers, including AVMs Ahmed Bakari, Albert Bot, Idi Sani, Muhammed Suleiman, Jibrin Usman, and Japheht Ekwuribe, were also posted to defence and joint service positions to strengthen cooperation with other security agencies.

The Air Force said the redeployment is part of Air Marshal Aneke’s vision to build a more effective and innovative force that focuses on national security, teamwork, and service excellence.
