Early morning downpour in Abuja’s elite Asokoro-Guzape axis triggers a flash flood, trapping motorists.

A grim reminder that even the nation’s capital is not immune to a deadly mix of climate change and poor urban planning.

The sudden flooding caused significant disruption to movement, with vehicles seen wading through deep waters. Residents in the area expressed concern over the poor drainage system, which they said often worsens flooding during the rainy season.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
