The Niger State Government has entered into a partnership with Project C.U.R.E, a prominent U.S.-based nonprofit organisation, to enhance healthcare delivery across the state.
As part of this collaboration, a thorough assessment is being conducted on 20 healthcare facilities, made up of 15 primary and 5 secondary centres, in 12 Local Government Areas.
The week-long evaluation exercise is taking place in Bida, Lavun, Mokwa, Lapai, Shiroro, Paikoro, Chanchaga, Kontagora, Rafi, Rijau, Suleja, and Tafa LGAs.
The aim is to identify essential needs and address gaps in healthcare infrastructure by providing life-saving medical equipment and critical supplies to boost service delivery within local communities.
Project C.U.R.E is internationally recognised for its humanitarian support, especially in delivering medical aid to areas affected by poverty, disasters, and conflict.
This partnership is expected to significantly improve the quality of care available to patients in Niger State, ensuring timely and appropriate medical services.
Leading the state’s team on the project are Dr. Bello Tukur, Dr. Ibrahim Dangana, Dr. Murtala Muhammad Bagana, and Dr. Ahmed Shehu, while the Project C.U.R.E delegation is represented by Babs Waldman and Bonnie Thomas.
According to the state government, this initiative aligns with Governor Umar Bago’s commitment to providing accessible, fair, and efficient healthcare services for the people of Niger State.
