Tinubu hails Ribadu’s leadership in fight against insecurity
President Bola Tinubu on Monday commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as “honest, bold, courageous and committed” while applauding his efforts in tackling banditry and terrorism across the country.
Speaking in Yola during the inauguration of projects executed by the Adamawa State Government, Tinubu said Ribadu was doing an “excellent job” in coordinating security operations and assured Nigerians that the fight against insecurity would be won under his leadership.
“I must say clearly here that you are doing an excellent job, and we have seen the results. With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists. You are a good national security adviser—honest, bold, courageous and committed to the job. I believe the people of Adamawa are proud of you, because I am too,” the president said.
The president’s remarks come amid recent allegations by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who accused the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) of procuring 10 kilogrammes of thallium sulphate, a toxic substance. The ONSA denied the claims and urged him to provide evidence to the Department of State Services for investigation.
El-Rufai also alleged that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) directed the DSS to arrest him at the Abuja airport. The DSS has since filed charges against him for allegedly intercepting Ribadu’s phone conversation.
Meanwhile, Tinubu called on political leaders to work collaboratively for the welfare of citizens and future generations. He praised investments in education, road networks, judicial infrastructure and automation of government facilities in Adamawa State.
The president commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for executing impactful projects and encouraged other state governors to emulate such initiatives, pledging continued federal support to ensure delivery of democratic dividends.
