Osun JUSUN denies warning strike, insists on indefinite action
The Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has refuted claims that its members are observing a three-day warning strike, insisting that their industrial action remains indefinite.
In a statement on Thursday, the union’s chairman, Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran, described the report as “false, baseless, and maliciously designed to undermine our legitimate struggle.” He maintained that members remain steadfast in their demands and will not be swayed by attempts to weaken their cause.
Adeniran called on members, lawyers, and stakeholders to stay vigilant and united, stressing that the fight for justice and fairness must continue. He also announced a solidarity rally at the Osun State Judiciary headquarters, scheduled for 8:00 a.m. at the High Court Gate, to reinforce the union’s unity and press home its demands.
The union reiterated its key demands, which include timely promotions, improved welfare, and better working conditions for judiciary staff. Adeniran described these demands as “legitimate, reasonable, and long overdue,” adding that the strike will not be suspended until they are addressed.
He further emphasised that recognition from the Judicial Service Commission under Chief Judge Adepele Ojo remains critical to resolving the crisis. According to him, JUSUN members are united and determined to achieve victory in their struggle.
