Victor Osimhen continued his impressive scoring form on Friday as Galatasaray secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Istanbul Başakşehir in a thrilling Turkish Super Lig encounter.

The Nigerian striker put the league champions ahead in the 13th minute, calmly finishing after being set up by midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The goal was Osimhen’s sixth in just four league appearances this season, extending his scoring run to four consecutive matches.

However, his night was cut short by an injury scare.

Osimhen went down in discomfort and received treatment before being substituted in the 33rd minute, with Barış Alper Yılmaz coming on as his replacement.

Despite losing their prolific striker, Galatasaray maintained their advantage until Başakşehir levelled through Eldor Shomurodov in the 66th minute.

Torreira restored Galatasaray’s lead five minutes later, but Başakşehir responded again when Davinson Sánchez inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to make it 2-2.

With the match heading towards a draw, Gabriel Sara produced the decisive moment in the 90th minute, scoring to hand Galatasaray a dramatic 3-2 victory.

The win keeps Galatasaray’s strong start going, while attention will now turn to the extent of Osimhen’s injury after the striker was forced off early in the encounter.
