Tinubu Woos Investors for 65 Projects Seeking $78.5bn in Funding
President Bola Tinubu has urged local and international investors to explore 65 bankable projects requiring a combined investment of $78.5 billion, as his administration steps up efforts to attract private capital into Nigeria’s economy.
Tinubu disclosed this in a post on his official X account on Friday, welcoming the World Bank Group’s initiative to mobilise up to $5.79 billion in private financing for Nigeria.
According to the President, the proposed financing would complement the Federal Government’s economic reforms aimed at improving the investment climate, expanding businesses and raising living standards.
He said the partnership with the World Bank Group would help attract investment into critical sectors, including agriculture and digital infrastructure.
“We undertook our economic reforms to build a stronger foundation for investment and give more Nigerians the opportunity to earn a better living,” Tinubu said.
The President disclosed that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, presented the investment opportunities at the Nigeria Investors Forum.
The forum was held on the sidelines of the 2026 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand.
Tinubu called on Nigerian and foreign investors to examine the projects and engage directly with their sponsors through the Federal Ministry of Finance’s Projects Nigeria platform.
He assured prospective investors that his administration would work with them to address challenges and facilitate the implementation of viable projects.
According to the President, the initiative is expected to generate employment, expand economic opportunities and strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to attract private investment.
Investors seeking further information about the projects can access the Projects Nigeria platform through the Federal Ministry of Finance’s website.
The initiative comes as the Federal Government seeks to mobilise private capital for projects across key sectors of the economy, with the proposed investments expected to support infrastructure development, business expansion and job creation.
