The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, on Monday, 24th November 2025, carried out a strategic community engagement visit to the Durumi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp and the Mpape community.
The outreach is part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to deepen community policing, build public trust, and boost joint security management across the FCT.
During the visit, residents of both communities expressed appreciation for the improved police presence and better security operations in their areas.
They also noted that the Command has become more responsive to their concerns but pointed out areas where more support is needed.
Addressing the residents, CP Dantawaye restated the Command’s strong commitment to providing professional, accountable, and community-focused policing. He said effective security depends on shared responsibility built on trust, open communication, and strong partnership between the police and the public. He encouraged community members to continue working closely with the police and share credible information that can help prevent crime and maintain peace.
The Commissioner also directed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in Durumi and Mpape to sustain the confidence the communities have in them, improve service delivery, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
Residents were urged to report suspicious activities or persons through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08068587311.
