INEC appeals to Ekiti residents to back 2026 Election preparations
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on residents of Ekiti State to support its efforts ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Speaking during an engagement with stakeholders, INEC officials urged citizens to participate actively in the ongoing preparatory activities, including voter education, registration updates, and community sensitisation. The commission emphasized that broad public cooperation is essential for achieving a credible, inclusive, and peaceful election.
INEC also appealed to political parties, civic groups, and traditional institutions to work with the commission to strengthen transparency and public trust in the electoral process.
The 2026 Ekiti governorship election is expected to draw significant attention as political actors begin early mobilization across the state.
