Tinubu condemns killing of abducted Oyo Teacher, orders fresh rescue push
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the killing of one of the teachers abducted in Esiele community, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the act as barbaric and unacceptable.
In a statement released on Monday, the President sympathised with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, the state government and families of the victims affected by the tragic incident.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that efforts were ongoing to rescue the remaining abducted persons still being held by the kidnappers.
According to the President, the Federal Government is collaborating closely with security agencies to secure the safe release of the victims.
He disclosed that he had received briefings on coordinated and technology-driven rescue operations involving the police and intelligence response units.
The President also commended the Inspector General of Police and security commanders in Oyo and Kwara states for their response and ongoing operations aimed at tracking down the abductors.
Tinubu further renewed his call for the establishment of state police across the country, insisting that increasing cases of kidnapping and violent crimes have made urgent security reforms necessary.
According to him, strengthening internal security architecture remains critical to tackling insecurity and protecting lives and property across Nigeria.
