NUJ FCT congratulates Kingsley Madaki on appointment as AMAC Chief Press Secretary
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has congratulated Kingsley Rufus Madaki on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the union described the appointment as a recognition of Madaki’s professionalism, competence and commitment to journalism and public communication.
The appointment, announced by the Office of the Executive Chairman of AMAC, was said to reflect the confidence reposed in Madaki’s ability to effectively manage public communication and media relations for the council.
Reacting to the development, Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, described the appointment as a proud moment for the media community in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to her, the development further demonstrates the increasing recognition of journalists as critical stakeholders in governance and development communication.
“We are delighted to celebrate one of our own as he takes on this new and important responsibility. This appointment is a testament to hard work, integrity and the values that the NUJ continues to champion among our members,” she said.
The council urged Madaki to deploy his wealth of experience and professional expertise in advancing the communication objectives of the council while contributing meaningfully to the development of the Federal Capital Territory.
The union also encouraged him to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability and effective public communication in the discharge of his duties.
NUJ FCT further wished him a successful and impactful tenure, assuring him of the union’s continued support and cooperation as he assumes his new responsibilities.
