Tragedy strikes again on Karu bridge as truck crash claims lives

Another heartbreaking accident has happened on Karu Bridge in Abuja, leaving several people dead.
The crash took place on Friday morning, as a truck carrying cement reportedly lost control while coming down the steep Kugbo hill. According to a reporter from DAILY POST who witnessed the scene, the truck’s brakes failed, causing it to plough into several vehicles, crushing them and the people inside.
After the crash, the truck driver allegedly tried to flee the scene, but was stopped near the Karu Roundabout by a group of commercial motorcyclists.
This is the second deadly accident on Karu Bridge in just a few weeks. In March, another lorry — this one from Dangote and powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) — also lost its brakes, crashed into cars, and took multiple lives.
Residents and road users are now calling for urgent action to prevent more tragedies on this busy road.
