BREAKING: Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori defects to APC in political shake-up
In a stunning turn of events, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially parted ways with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made following a high-level, closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba, the state capital, on Wednesday evening.
Governor Oborevwori, who secured victory in the 2023 gubernatorial election on the PDP ticket, was formally welcomed into the APC fold by prominent party leaders.
This unexpected defection is already being seen as a major political realignment with significant implications as the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
