FIFA President sends condolences after Liverpool parade tragedy
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has sent his heartfelt thoughts and prayers to those affected by the tragic incident that took place during Liverpool’s Premier League title celebrations.
The unfortunate event occurred around 6 p.m. on Monday when a black SUV drove into a crowd of Liverpool supporters gathered on Water Street, towards the end of the club’s 10-mile victory parade.
Reports confirmed that 47 people sustained injuries, with 27 requiring hospital treatment.
Reacting to the tragedy, Infantino expressed solidarity with Liverpool Football Club and its supporters, noting that the football community stands united with the club and its fans during this difficult time.
