Sallah: Akpabio felicitates Muslims, urges peace, patience, national unity
As Muslims in Nigeria and across the world mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim faithful, praying that the sacred occasion brings peace, love, and unity to the nation.
In a message conveyed through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President described Eid-el-Kabir as a festival that reminds Nigerians of the values of sacrifice, compassion, and kindness. He noted that the commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son should serve as a lesson in faith, obedience, and selflessness for all.
Senator Akpabio urged Nigerians to embrace these virtues in their daily lives, promoting a culture of peace, understanding, and cooperation for the good of the country.
While acknowledging the economic and security challenges facing the nation, the Senate President commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for taking bold steps to address them.
He noted that although some of the economic and fiscal reforms have been tough, they are beginning to yield positive results and lay the foundation for a more prosperous future.
He called on Nigerians to remain patient, resilient, and committed to the nation’s progress, assuring that better days lie ahead.
Senator Akpabio also encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to foster interfaith harmony, national unity, and development, stressing that the country can only move forward when citizens come together in peace and mutual understanding.
He wished Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration.
