Akwa Ibom NMA commends Governor for upgrading community Hospital
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State chapter, has applauded the state government for upgrading a community hospital, describing the move as a significant step toward improving healthcare delivery in rural areas.
In a statement issued on Monday, the association praised the governor for prioritising quality healthcare and ensuring that residents in underserved communities gain access to better medical facilities. The NMA noted that the upgraded hospital now boasts improved infrastructure, modern equipment, and enhanced service capacity, which will help reduce pressure on secondary and tertiary health centres.
The association said the development reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening the state’s primary healthcare system, adding that such investments are crucial for early diagnosis, prompt treatment, and improved health outcomes.
NMA leaders also commended the government for involving medical professionals in the planning and implementation stages of the project, stating that this collaboration ensures that the facility meets global standards.
They urged the government to sustain the momentum by upgrading more community hospitals, ensuring steady supply of medical consumables, and addressing manpower shortages through strategic recruitment and training.
The association reassured residents of its support and pledged continued partnership with the government to achieve a more efficient and responsive healthcare sector across the state.
