Kano Governor sacks Head of Service Abdullahi Musa
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has relieved the state’s Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect.
The decision was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature.
According to the statement, the move is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition the Kano State civil service for greater efficiency, discipline and improved service delivery across government institutions.
Governor Yusuf directed the outgoing Head of Service to hand over the affairs of the office to the Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services at the Cabinet Office, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, who has been asked to serve in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.
The governor instructed that the handover process be completed by Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
While announcing the decision, Yusuf expressed appreciation to Musa for his contributions and dedication to the service of Kano State during his tenure.
“We wish him the best in his future endeavours and pray for his continued success in all aspects of life,” the statement said.
Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota will oversee the office in an acting capacity until a new Head of Service is appointed.
