Osimhen tops Champions League Player of the Match leaderboard
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has moved to the top of the UEFA Champions League Player of the Match leaderboard following a series of impressive performances for Galatasaray this season.
According to a post from UEFA on Tuesday, the Super Eagles forward currently leads the standings with four Man of the Match awards — the highest by any player in the competition so far.
His latest recognition came after a standout performance against Juventus, where he scored a crucial goal to help Galatasaray secure a dramatic 7–5 aggregate victory and qualify for the round of 16.
Osimhen has been in outstanding form throughout the campaign, scoring seven goals in eight Champions League appearances.
His attacking threat, aerial dominance and relentless pressing have been central to Galatasaray’s strong run in Europe this season.
The 27-year-old now sits ahead of several top football stars on the leaderboard, including Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal from Italian side Napoli last summer, and the Turkish champions have already begun to reap the benefits, with the Nigerian forward leading their charge in Europe.
With the knockout stages now underway, Osimhen will be looking to maintain his strong form as Galatasaray aim to extend their Champions League campaign.
