Anthony Joshua set for July return in Riyadh ahead of possible fury clash
British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua is scheduled to return to the ring on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will face Kristian Prenga in what is being described as a warm-up bout ahead of a potential blockbuster fight with Tyson Fury later this year.
The fight will take place under the Esports World Cup banner and will be broadcast live on streaming platform DAZN.
Saudi boxing official Turki Alalshikh confirmed that Joshua has signed a two-fight deal under Riyadh Season, with the second bout widely expected to be against Fury in a long-anticipated heavyweight showdown.
The July fight will mark Joshua’s return to competitive action after a lengthy break, which he says was used to rebuild and refocus ahead of his comeback.
Joshua said the new deal represents the next step in his career return, expressing confidence in picking up where he left off as he eyes bigger fights later in the year.
The bout is also part of the broader entertainment and sports push under Riyadh Season, which has increasingly hosted major global boxing events.
