Bago At 51: Islamic scholars hold special prayers to celebrate governor

A special prayer session was held in Minna to mark the 51st birthday of Niger State Governor, Farner Umaru Mohammed Bago. The event took place at the Government House and was organised by the Permanent Secretary of the Government House, Hajiya Hauwa Wali.

The prayer session was led by Mal. Umar Faruk Abdullahi, the Director-General of the Bureau for Islamic Affairs, along with other Islamic scholars. They prayed for Governor Bago, describing him as a visionary and selfless leader, asking Allah to continue guiding him as he works to take Niger State to new heights.

Students from various Islamic schools across the state also took part, reciting verses from the Holy Quran during the event.

The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, expressed gratitude to Allah for keeping Governor Bago healthy and able to fulfil his leadership goals. He called on the people of Niger State to continue supporting and praying for the administration in its efforts to transform the state.

In her remarks, the wife of the Governor, Hajiya Fatima Umaru Bago, thanked Allah for another year in her husband’s life and for the special prayers held in his honour. She wished that all the good prayers offered would be accepted.

The Permanent Secretary, Government House, Hajiya Hauwa Wali, emphasised that the event was organised to show respect and gratitude to the Governor for his leadership and efforts to improve the state.

Other notable speakers included Mairo Muhammad Mann, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, who praised the Governor as an exemplary leader, and Mal. Muhammad Baba Ibrahim, Chairman of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, who spoke of the positive changes under the current administration.

Governor Bago was also presented with a copy of the Holy Quran by the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation. Additionally, the leadership of the National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS) presented a birthday cake and exercise books as a sign of their support for the Governor’s administration.

Hajiya Hauwa Wali, who received the items on behalf of the Governor, expressed appreciation for the gesture and assured the students of the administration’s commitment to educational reforms.
