Several people were reported injured after multiple explosions rocked Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, on Monday evening.
Reports indicate that one of the explosions occurred at the Maiduguri Monday Market shortly after the evening iftar meal, around 7 p.m.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication that focuses on developments in the Lake Chad region, another explosion was recorded at the entrance of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
The blasts reportedly caused panic in the affected areas as residents and traders fled the scene.
Emergency responders were said to have moved quickly to assist the injured and transport victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities are yet to release an official casualty figure as rescue and assessment operations continue.
Further details are expected as investigations into the incident progress.
