Burna Boy, Famous Pluto, Modola shine on Boomplay’s Top 10 Albums Chart
Boomplay, Africa’s leading music streaming service, has unveiled its Top 10 Albums for August and September, with Nigerian megastar Burna Boy, rising Afrobeats sensation Famous Pluto, and breakout singer Modola making the cut.
The chart captures the most-streamed albums between January and September 2025, spotlighting the artists who dominated digital platforms and resonated with fans across the continent.
Burna Boy’s No Sign for Weakness maintained his stronghold, blending Afro-fusion with socially conscious messages that reinforced his global dominance. Famous Pluto, whose real name is Osahon Grandeur Uzama, secured the 2nd spot with his project Uzama The 3rd, marking his biggest breakthrough yet on Boomplay.
At number 9, Modola, born Temidola Awosika, made her debut with New Light. The project, powered by the viral success of her TikTok hit “Talk,” was praised for its “musical maturity and passion.” Ghana’s Black Sheriff also made waves, with his second body of work Iron Boy taking the 3rd position.
Industry analysts note that the mix of established and rising stars on Boomplay’s chart underscores Afrobeats’ growing diversity and the shifting listening habits of streaming audiences.
Boomplay further revealed that the full Top 100 Albums (H1 2025) featured artists from across Africa and the diaspora, reflecting its influence in shaping the continent’s evolving music culture.
