Chelsea complete £48.5m move for Dortmund star Jamie Gittens

Chelsea have officially sealed the signing of winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of £48.5 million, with an additional £3.5 million in potential add-ons.
The 20-year-old England Under-21 international has agreed to a seven-year deal with the Blues, bringing an end to his four-year spell in Germany. Gittens initially left Manchester City in 2020 to join Dortmund, where he made 107 appearances, netting 17 goals and providing 14 assists.
Speaking after completing the move, Gittens described it as an “amazing feeling” to join Chelsea and looked forward to the new chapter in his career. However, he will not be eligible to play for his new club until after the ongoing Club World Cup.
Gittens’ arrival adds to Chelsea’s ongoing strategy of securing top young talents as they continue rebuilding under their new technical direction.
