Elanga’s early strike seals Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United
Nottingham Forest bolstered their Champions League hopes as Anthony Elanga’s solo strike secured a 1-0 win over his former club, Manchester United.
The winger, who joined United at the age of 12, sprinted 70 yards before finishing into the bottom corner to give Forest an early lead.
The victory was both efficient and effective, marking Forest’s first league double over United since the 1991-92 season. It also secured their 13th clean sheet of the season, while United suffered their 13th defeat of the campaign.
Forest remain third in the Premier League, holding an eight-point lead over fourth-placed Chelsea, and are on the verge of a first European campaign since 1996.
