Gov Bago sacks 30 aides in fresh administrative rejig
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the disengagement of 30 special advisers as part of ongoing efforts to restructure the state’s governance framework and enhance administrative efficiency.
The development was confirmed on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim, who said the decision was taken to reposition the administration in line with the governor’s New Niger agenda.
According to the statement, Governor Bago made the announcement during his maiden State Executive Council meeting with the newly inaugurated commissioners at the Government House in Minna.
Bologi explained that the move was aimed at allowing the governor to rejig the structure of governance and realign advisory roles to better meet the developmental priorities of the state.
“The termination of their appointment was to allow the governor to rejig and reposition their portfolios with a view to making them more effective and efficient in line with his New Niger agenda,” the statement read.
While details of fresh appointments or possible reassignments were not disclosed, the governor reportedly expressed appreciation to the affected advisers for their sacrifices and contributions to the administration.
Governor Bago also wished them success in their future endeavours, noting that the decision was taken in the overall interest of strengthening governance and service delivery in the state.
