Zamfara Gov approves Managing Director for new International Airport
Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Kabir Yahaya Gusau as the pioneer Managing Director of Gusau International Airport.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, explained that the appointment aims to ensure effective coordination and operational readiness ahead of the airport’s commencement.
In a statement released by the SSG’s media aide, Suleman Ahmad Tudu, the government highlighted that the airport is expected to enhance international connectivity, attract investment, and boost economic development in Zamfara State.
Gusau is a seasoned aviation professional with over 30 years of experience in aviation operations and airspace management. His career includes roles such as Airspace Manager at the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) at Gombe Airport and Special Assistant to the Managing Director of NAMA. Until this appointment, he served as General Manager, Aeronautical Information Services at NAMA headquarters in Abuja.
He holds a Master’s degree in Transport Planning, a postgraduate diploma from Lagos State University, and certifications in Aeronautical Communication from the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria.
Governor Lawal tasked Gusau with leveraging his expertise to ensure efficient, seamless, and globally compliant airport operations.
