Ndudi Elumelu wins APC Reps primary for Aniocha/Oshimili constituency
The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Elumelu was declared winner by the APC Delta State Returning Officer, Barr. Val Ada Areyinka, at the party’s central collation centre located at the Oshimili South Local Government Event Centre in Asaba.
The primary election, conducted through direct voting, took place across the 42 wards in the four local government areas making up the constituency.
With the victory, Elumelu secured the APC ticket to contest for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives during the 2027 elections.
The exercise was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
In his acceptance speech, Elumelu thanked party leaders, stakeholders and members for entrusting him with the party’s ticket.
“It is with utmost humility and gratitude that I address distinguished leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for nominating me to fly the flag of the APC for re-election,” he said.
The former Minority Leader also appreciated his family, especially his elder brother, Dr. Tony Elumelu, for his support.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda and praised Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for implementing the MORE Agenda in the state.
Elumelu also appreciated former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the APC National Working Committee, Delta State Working Committee and members of his campaign council.
According to him, his emergence reflects the confidence reposed in him by party members and constituents who desire what he described as a return to effective representation.
He recalled that during his previous tenure in the House of Representatives, the constituency benefited from projects in education, healthcare, agriculture, electricity, housing and road construction.
“Our people cannot wait to return to that era when the voice of our Constituency reverberated in the House of Representatives,” he stated.
Elumelu described the APC ticket as a “unity ticket” and called on party members, including other aspirants and aggrieved stakeholders, to remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He specifically appealed to Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie and other party members to embrace sportsmanship and support the APC for the overall interest of the constituency.
