Niger State secures major Agro-Industrial investment deals at China-Africa Expo
At the ongoing China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) 2025 in Changsha, China, the Niger State Special Agro-industrial Processing Zone (NS SAPZ) signed landmark agreements with the China Overseas Engineering Group (COVEC) and nine leading agro-processing companies.
The agreements mark a significant milestone for Niger State, as the companies have committed to co-locating within the NS SAPZ to drive key agricultural value chains including maize, soybean, rice, and wheat processing, alongside power supply infrastructure.
This development is expected to create massive employment opportunities, strengthen the state’s agro-industrial capacity, and enhance food processing systems and power infrastructure.
Additionally, the partnerships will help boost food security and foster long-term economic growth in the region.
Niger State is set to position itself as a major agro-industrial hub in West Africa through these partnerships.
The signing was witnessed by the Honourable Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Aminu Suleman Takuma, and the Chairman of the NS SAPZ, Yomi Akopo.
